A Homeowner with a problem
My wife and I bought an old home in Lynchburg, VA—and if you know, you know. There are house projects, and then there are old-home house projects.
With a place like this, consistent maintenance isn’t optional. Every project requires careful planning, patience, and a bit of creativity. You might start with a clear plan, only to realize you’re not just building on the work of the previous homeowner—but the past ten of them.
I’m pretty hands-on with our house, whether that means tackling projects myself or working with contractors. Each year, I set aside a dedicated week to handle the kinds of projects you can’t easily start and stop—things like prepping and repainting a metal roof. To stay organized, I relied on spreadsheets (which I genuinely love) and a mess of reminders to keep everything on track.
But during our 2025 project week, I finally asked myself: Isn’t there a better way to manage all of this?
I searched—and couldn’t find anything that really fit. So I decided to build my own. (Still wild that we live in a time where you can build software with the help of AI.)
What began as a simple task and project organizer quickly grew into a full home maintenance app—and honestly, I love it. Now I see bigger possibilities: tools for homeowners, realtors, contractors, and maintenance marketplaces—all working together to help people care for their homes more efficiently.
Taking care of things now can be one of the best decisions you make. A home is a major investment, and my hope is that this app helps you protect yours the same way it’s helped me protect mine.
